On Saturday, 4 June we are celebrating the 27th anniversary of the first democratic elections in Poland in 1989.
Join us in celebrations of this important date in London, on Saturday, 4 June, at 3 p.m. at the Polish Embassy, 47 Portland Place, London W1B 1JH. You will have an opportunity to meet interesting people and raise a glass in toast to freedom (with champagne, juice or water) together with KOD members in Poland whom we will be joining on a livestream. As usual, after the official part, we will continue informal celebrations in a nearby pub.
If you are unable to join us at the Embassy, we encourage you to celebrate with your friends and family. There is no set programme, but all celebrations will feature a toast to freedom and singing of the Polish national anthem. And, of course, a commemorative photo.
The symbol of our celebration of freedom is a white and red butterfly. It is said that a flutter of butterfly’s wings can bring about a tornado…
